Outreach Programs
Outreach Programs bring the BMA into students’ lives through rich experiences centering on the Museum’s outstanding and diverse collection. Intended to help young people “learn to look” and to promote confidence in their visual abilities, these experiences are memorable and last a lifetime. The BMA welcomes partnerships with organizations that share our goals of reaching out to create lifelong learners with a love of art.
Close Encounters
Close Encounters, a sequential learning program for fourth-grade classes in the Baltimore City Public School System, is designed to enhance students' visual literacy through direct, personal, and extended contact with works of art. The program provides students with a multiple-session experience including four Museum visits complimented by BMA educators visiting the classroom. To become a Close Encounters School, contact Julie Lin at 443-573-1824 or jlin@artbma.org.
