work ethic programs

Opening Day: Meet the Artists
Sunday, October 12, 1-4 p.m.
Several Work Ethic artists spend the day at the BMA staging art happenings and performances that challenge our notions of what art can be. Schedule of Events.

Hugh Pocock’s Drilling a Well for Water
Beginning Sunday, October 12
Artist Hugh Pocock will drill a well in the BMA’s sculpture gardens, retrieve water, and add it to the Museum’s heating and cooling unit so that a percentage of air in the Museum becomes his “sculpture.” On view during Museum hours.

Family Hands-On: Work It!
Sunday, October 12, 2-4 p.m.
For ages 5 and up

Marvel at Roxy Paine’s automatic painting machine, then design a machine that performs a task that you’d prefer to avoid. Homewokerator? Dogbather? Your imagination is the limit!
