Focus on Female Creativity

Help us celebrate the Baltimore Museum of Art’s 2020 Vision initiative and share the story of an artist, a caregiver, a frontline worker, a mentor, or friend in our living mosaic honoring female creativity and the women who have inspired you!

In memory of Carol Urban (nee Mannion)

Carol is a product of Baltimore. Her spontaneous sense of humor was - is - a form of creativity that people notice soon after meeting her. Making people smile by being herself. She had an eye for beauty and an easy ability to help others notice it as well. Especially in architecture. We would travel far to visit notable examples, from Columbus Indiana to the Clark Museum in Massachusetts. It was she who pointed out to me that some of the arches in the basement of the Baltimore Basilica are upside-down. See for yourself!
