Focus on Female Creativity

Help us celebrate the Baltimore Museum of Art’s 2020 Vision initiative and share the story of an artist, a caregiver, a frontline worker, a mentor, or friend in our living mosaic honoring female creativity and the women who have inspired you!

In memory of Rawle Mannix

My mother was also one of my best friends. My love of art, music, cats, reading, and France comes directly from her. We had so much fun together, especially at the beach and doing yoga. She was good at math (which I did not get from her) and went back to school to study architecture and civil engineering, both fields dominated by men. She worked for many years for men who were beneath contempt, in my opinion, but didn't let that stop her. She always rose above her circumstances and shined like the star she was and will always be.
