Melot does not describe the accidental scratch mark in the sky, which Delteil uses to distinguish the third, and final, state. Rather, Melot, as well as Robaut, defines the third state as published in an edition of 200 for the book "Edmond Roche, Poésies posthumes (Paris: M. Lévy, 1863)"
