Members Day Trip: Smithsonian American Art Museum & Rubell Museum

Join BMA Members on a day trip to Washington, D.C. Guests will enjoy guided tours of the Rubell collection and the Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM).

The Smithsonian American Art Museum, the nation’s first collection of American art, is home to one of the largest and most inclusive collections of American art in the world. Its artworks reveal key aspects of America’s rich artistic and cultural history from the colonial period to today.

The Rubell Museum in D.C. brings the Rubell family’s extensive contemporary art collection to the nation’s capital, giving new access to incredible work by artists including Hank Willis Thomas, John Waters, Carrie Mae Weems, and Kehinde Wiley, among many others.

Members: $230 | Non-Member & Member Guests: $250

Tickets include guided tours at both institutions, bus travel to and from the BMA, and a delicious Spanish lunch at Chef José Andrés’ Jaleo.

Trip Itinerary

8:30 a.m. – Arrive at BMA and check in Zamoiski Visitor Entrance

8:45 a.m.– Depart BMA on bus

10:15 a.m. – Arrive at SAAM

10:30 a.m. – Tour of SAAM & free time

12:15 p.m. – Depart SAAM for lunch

12:30 p.m. – Lunch at Jaleo

2:15 p.m. – Depart for Rubell Museum

2:30 p.m. – Rubell Museum tours & free time

4:30 p.m. – Depart Rubell Museum on bus

5:45 p.m. – Arrive at BMA
