Join acclaimed sculptor Melvin Edwards and curator of Odyssey: Jack Whitten Sculpture, 1963–2017 Katy Siegel in the BMA's Meyerhoff Auditorium for a thought-provoking conversation on the art and legacy of Jack Whitten. Edwards and Siegel will reflect on Whitten’s career of over 50 years creating innovative paintings and sculptures and his impact on the trajectory of social abstraction. They will also discuss his significance to the next generation of artists and the role that African art has played in both Whitten’s and Edwards’s practices.
