The American Wing includes more than 800 paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts that explore the international character of American art and Baltimore's position as a major center for art production and foreign trade from the late 18th century forward. See the American Wing through the eyes of Lakeland Elementary School students.

Exhibition highlights

  • Stained glass, mosaics, and silver objects from the glamorous late 19th century by Louis Comfort Tiffany and his colleagues and competitors.
  • Modern American masterpieces by Georgia O'Keeffe, Jacob Lawrence, Marsden Hartley, Joseph Stella, and many other acclaimed artists.
  • 21st-century art works that reveal unexpected links between historic and contemporary American art.
