Members International Trip: Netherlands & Exclusive Maastricht Art Experience
Friday, March 6–Thursday, March 12, 2020
Travel with the BMA on an extraordinary, six-day adventure that explores some of the artistic highlights of the Netherlands! Senior Curator Andaleeb Banta will share her insights and experiences as she guides you on a tour of masterpieces. On this unforgettable journey, you will view works from 17th-Century Golden Age masters such as Frans Hals, Rembrandt, and Vermeer, along with other celebrated Dutch artists such as Van Gogh and Mondrian. Close out your adventure with a trip to the world-renowned European Fine Art Fair (TEFAF).
The journey begins in Amsterdam, where we will visit the famed Rijksmuseum, recently renovated in 2013, the Van Gogh Museum, the Stedelijk Museum of Modern Art, and several other museums and galleries. Experience the “Venice of the North” on a private canal boat through the 17th-century canal ring area, a UNSECO World Heritage Site. Excursions outside of Amsterdam will include a trip to the Kröller-Müller Museum and a day in the Hague, with stops at the Mauritshuis, the Livingston Gallery, and an incredible private art collection. The final two days will be spent in Maastricht, one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands, to attend TEFAF. This illustrious art fair has a proud history of showcasing masterpieces in every category of fine art, from antiques, Old Masters, and Haute Joaillerie to contemporary painting, works on paper, and 20th-century design. Travelers will be given an exclusive tour by a TEFAF representative and enjoy a private welcome reception. Along with the access to an incredible array of fine art, travelers will dine at celebrated Dutch restaurants, including two restaurants helmed by Michelin-starred head chefs, and stay in luxury five-star accommodations in both Amsterdam and Maastricht. We hope you will join us for this exceptional insiders’ journey to travel with a curator and take your love of the arts to a new level. Limited spaces are available.
