Elise Boulanger

Elise Boulanger (she/her), a citizen of the Osage Nation, is a community organizer, emerging curator, and interdisciplinary artist. In 2023, she joined the Baltimore Museum of Art as a Curatorial Research Assistant focused on the Preoccupied: Indigenizing the Museum initiative. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in studio art from Fort Lewis College and was the inaugural Curatorial Fellow at the Center of Southwest Studies Museum. Since 2020, she has organized, curated, and designed four community-driven exhibitions centered around Indigenous identity, social justice, and representation of over 20 federally-recognized tribes and Alaskan villages. Her 2022 exhibition As Seeds, We Grow: Student Reflections on Resilience responded to public reconciliation efforts at Fort Lewis College by exploring cultural identity with consideration to federal Indian residential school history. She has received exhibition funding from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, the Women & Girls of Color Fund from the Women’s Foundation of Colorado, and the Mellon Foundation.
