Education

Irene Bantigue (she/her) is the Interpretation Coordinator at the Baltimore Museum of Art. In this role, she supports the Director of Interpretation and assists with telling the stories of the BMA’s special exhibitions and permanent collections in collaboration with the Education, Curatorial, and Exhibition Design departments. She first joined the BMA in March 2023 as an intern with the Marketing & Experience department before transitioning into a Visitor Services Associate role to assist with The Culture: Hip Hop and Contemporary Art in the 21st Century. Prior to the BMA, she spent over five years in diverse communications and community engagement roles across Baltimore’s arts and nonprofit sectors. As a freelance writer, she also covers arts and culture for regional publications, including BmoreArt and Washington City Paper. Irene earned a BA in sociology from The Johns Hopkins University in 2019.
