Square panel of plain-woven unbleached cotton or linen embroidered in pseudo-geometric/floral motifs using light rust monochrome silk threads. The densely worked design, created solely from chain stitches, includes a central medallion with a simplified Arabic tughra (calligraphic onogram, seal, or signature) resembling that of the Ottoman sultan Abduhamid II or Mehmed V. The field is arranged around diamond-shaped motifs outlined in foiate designs. This is surrounded by two lines separated by a narrow area of unworked ground. Beyond this inner border is a border worked in fan-shaped motifs. The edges are finished with embroidery in blanket stitches worked with the same light rust silk.
