Cylindrical in shape of the 'lighthouse' style, the cover is secured by bayonet fittings with two lugs. The caster's cover is pieced with stylized floral motifs that have been chased and engraved.

Inscribed: On underside of base are punched initials of P B over S S, which appear to be contemporary.

Markings: stamped on side of base: indecipherable stamp, indecipherable stamp, lion head (?), reverse "B"
