LaToya Ruby Frazier’s acclaimed and deeply evocative installation celebrates the essential work of community health workers in Baltimore during the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine. Presented as part of the BMA’s Turn Again to the Earth environmental initiative.

Turn Again to the Earth

The BMA is embarking on an ambitious environmental initiative that includes a series of ten exhibitions that capture the relationships between art and the environment across time and geography, the development of a sustainability strategic plan, and a citywide eco-challenge led by the Museum.

Preoccupied: Indigenizing the Museum

The artwork, perspectives, and histories of Native artists, scholars, and community members are at the center of Preoccupied: Indigenizing the Museum, a major BMA initiative. The wide-reaching project seeks to begin addressing the historical erasure of Indigenous culture by arts institutions while creating new practices for museums.
