Brittany Strupp

Manager of Interpretation and Evaluation

Education

Brittany Strupp (she/her) is the Manager of Interpretation and Evaluation at the Baltimore Museum of Art. In this role, she supports the Director of Interpretation and collaborates with the Education, Curatorial, and Exhibition Design departments to tell the stories of the BMA’s special exhibitions and permanent collections through in-gallery, off-site, and online interpretive resources that encourage active engagement and close looking. Her evaluation of BMA interpretation content offers invaluable insight into how best to personally engage each of our visitors.

Brittany first joined the BMA in 2006 as the Curatorial Assistant in American Painting, Sculpture, and Decorative Arts before returning to the Museum in July 2024. In the interim, she has worked at the Buffalo AKG Art Museum, Smithsonian American Art Museum, Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, Philadelphia Museum of Art, and National Gallery of Art (Washington, D.C.) in both curatorial and interpretation roles. She holds a PhD in art history from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art, an MA in art history and architecture from the University of Virginia, and a BA in art and art history from Colgate University.
