Dave Eassa (he/him) is the Director of Public Engagement at the Baltimore Museum of Art. He oversees BMA Lexington Market, the BMA’s branch location at the historic Lexington Market, as well as the Joshua Johnson Council, one of the nation’s oldest African-American museum support groups. Prior to the BMA, he was the founder and director of Free Space, an arts program working with the Maryland prison system. He has been a fellow with the Open Society Institute in Baltimore and the Salzburg Global Seminar in Salzburg, Austria. Additionally, he maintains a rigorous studio practice that operates harmoniously with his cultural work, completing residencies across the U.S. and Amman, Jordan; public sculpture on view in Baltimore; and solo and group exhibitions nationally.
