Teaching Artist
Korcelia Saygbay
Celia is a multidisciplinary fiber artist whose practice centers on sustainability, care, and the creative possibilities of cloth. Working across punch needle, embroidery, appliqué, natural dyeing, and mending, they create tactile works that explore the relationship between textile traditions and contemporary life. As the founder of Mending Baltimore, Celia facilitates accessible, hands-on workshops that invite communities to extend the life of their garments while reconnecting with the value of making by hand. Their work bridges art, craft, and education, with a focus on slow fashion, creative reuse, and community repair.
