Council Day Tour

Air Quality and Watershed exhibitions: An Exclusive Tour

Join us for an in-depth tour of the exhibitions Air Quality: The Influence of Smog on European Modernism and Watershed: Transforming the Landscape in Early Modern Dutch Art with Dr. Kevin Tervala, Eddie C. And C. Sylvia Brown Chief Curator, and Dr. Lara Yeager-Crasselt, Curator and Department Head of European Painting and Sculpture. Enjoy this curators-led tour of the galleries and learn how the burning of fossil fuels, particularly coal, influenced European modernism as well as how landscapes depicted in early modern Dutch artworks reflect the environmental, economic, and social changes occurring at the water’s edge. Both exhibitions are part of the BMA’s institution-wide Turn Again to the Earth initiative.

This event is open to Council Members only, and invitations will be emailed. Please RSVP to council@artbma.org or call 443-573-1800 by Friday, March 7.
