About the Artists

Sanahara Ama Chandra Brown considers caring to be her profession. She is a sound healer, professional singer, griot, activist, nurse, and mama of two, who synthesizes indigenous, earth-based technologies and quantum science to practice sound healing and energy clearing practices. She is known for creating multi-dimensional musical experiences based on her own healing journey, such as Kintsugi and I Lived Dammit; and for creating responsive sound baths that reflect the energies of people and places.

Hannah Brancato‘s art practice is rooted in the creation of public rituals to bring people’s stories together through textiles and story-sharing. As the co-founder of FORCE: Upsetting Rape Culture, an artist collective dedicated to creating a culture of consent, she co-founded and co-created the award-winning Monument Quilt, featuring 3,000 fabric squares made by rape and abuse survivors, displayed 50 times over 6 years. Her current work is focused on uplifting the essential role of art in social justice.
