Free Family Sundays: Yoga

Join us for a special day of family yoga and meditation sessions led by instructor Michelle Stafford. This afternoon of contemplation and movement is inspired by Auguste Rodin’s The Thinker, and will be held in the beautiful Fox Court.

Free Family Sundays: Yoga is a drop-in workshop for children, families, and adults of all abilities. Water will be provided.

*A limited number of yoga mats will be available. See instructions below for bringing your own mat.

Schedule

2:00 pm – 2:15 pm – Settle in

2:15 pm – 2:45 pm – Yoga

3:00 pm – 3:30 pm – Meditation and movement

3:45 pm – 4:15 pm – Singing bowls

Personal Yoga Mat Instructions:

  • Visitors bringing their own yoga mats must enter through the Historic Entrance front steps. A limited number of yoga mats and floor stools will be provided.
  • Yoga mats and water bottles cannot be carried through the Museum galleries.
  • Assistance can be provided in the East Lobby for those unable use the stairs.

Michelle Stafford

Meet Michelle Stafford, a radiant soul known to many as Divayogi. With over two decades of teaching experience, Michelle has dedicated her life to spreading the transformative power of yoga and holistic wellness. Her journey has been fueled by a profound belief in the healing potential of yoga, not only for the body but also for the mind and spirit.

Michelle’s approach to teaching is deeply rooted in her trauma-informed perspective. She recognizes the importance of creating safe spaces where individuals can embark on their healing journey at their own pace. Her playful and fun-loving nature shines through in her classes, making the practice of yoga an enjoyable and uplifting experience for all.

A true advocate for social justice, Michelle has committed herself to working with underserved communities. Her mission is to break down barriers and bring yoga and healthy food within reach of everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances. She firmly believes that these tools can empower individuals, fostering both personal growth and the building of strong, resilient communities.
