Making with MICA!

Join us for a series of art-making sessions led by MICA Community Artists and inspired by works on view in the BMA collection. These programs support reflection, honor lived experiences, and foster collective wellbeing through care-centered engagements with art.

Through guided art making, participants are invited to explore creative techniques alongside the histories, themes, and stories behind the artworks. Open to all ages and experience levels, these sessions offer a welcoming, collaborative environment to experiment, create, and grow together.

Programs are free and take place every other Friday.

Location: BMA Lexington Market

About Making with MICA!

Making with MICA! is facilitated by artists in MICA’s MFA in Community Arts (MFACA) program and the Community Art Collaborative (CAC) AmeriCorps program. The MFACA program’s mission is to realize tangible social change locally and regionally by developing students’ community art practices through community engagement and collective art making. The Community Art Collaborative is an AmeriCorps program at MICA that prepares artists to facilitate impactful community arts programming during yearlong residencies in partnership with Baltimore City organizations. Together, MFACA and CAC programs support and expand creative engagement opportunities for MICA students and Baltimore community members and organizations year-round. All are invited to learn more and get involved!
