About the Artist:

Amaka Erika Korie is a Baltimore-based multidisciplinary artist, healer, and filmmaker. Mira Mma—combining “mirror” with the Igbo word for beautiful, mara mma—is her art studio, where she transforms upcycled materials into affirmation art that inspires radical self-acceptance and celebration.
