For Families
Personal Migration Stories & Portrait Night at the Pratt
Stop by the Enoch Pratt Central Library to record how migration is a part of your story!
Enoch Pratt’s artist-in-residence, SHAN Wallace, will be onsite taking portraits of families and individuals who record their migration stories. SHAN Wallace is a nomadic award-winning visual artist, photographer, and educator from East Baltimore, MD.
The interactive installation at the Pratt is part of the BMA exhibition, A Movement in Every Direction: Legacies of the Great Migration. The works commissioned for the exhibition asked 12 artists to reflect on the lasting impact of the American diaspora. Many of the works created were deeply personal, built upon the migration stories of family members. This exhibition gives each of us an opportunity to consider our own migration stories, and the digital interactive offers visitors a chance to both document and share personal migration stories.
You can find the experience in the exhibition, at the Enoch Pratt Central Library, and online at greatmigrationlegacies.org.
