Workshops

Sublime Subjects

Inspired by Amy Sherald: American Sublime, this dynamic portraiture workshop will offer insight into Sherald’s practice, exploring how gray scale, color, and language can reflect the stories we carry within.

With guidance from transdisciplinary artist HOPE McCorkle, we’ll celebrate Black historical and cultural figures from Baltimore and beyond whose influence, resilience, and brilliance embody the timeless grace of the sublime. Together, we’ll tap into the spirit of representation and experiment with expressive approaches, creating portraits that honor legacy and celebrate power and presence.
