Teacher Night: Amy Sherald: American Sublime

Educators are invited to a special evening celebrating Amy Sherald: American Sublime at the Baltimore Museum of Art.

Explore Sherald’s striking portraits and discover how her work opens conversations around identity, representation, and the power of everyday moments. BMA educators will share ways to connect Sherald’s art to your classroom curriculum across subjects—from art and English language arts to history and social studies.

Along with learning about educational resources the Museum offers teachers and students—including free guided and self-guided tours, virtual learning experiences, collection-based lesson materials, and professional development workshops—participants can enjoy light refreshments and take part in a hands-on artmaking activity in the BMA’s classrooms.

Admission to Amy Sherald: American Sublime is free for Teacher Night participants during the event. Due to timed ticketing, there may be a short wait for exhibition entry.
