Waystation Meditation with Jordan Tierney

Enter Waystation for Future Migrations, Late 21st Century Jones Falls Watershed, a sculptural rest stop imagined by artist Jordan Tierney as part of her speculative vision. Inspired by the wisdom of Octavia Butler and the ecology of the Jones Falls Watershed, this dome-shaped refuge offers a space for reflection, unburdening, and quiet transformation. This meditative experience honors slowness, presence, and imagination. Jordan Tierney will sit silently in the dome, holding space for up to two guests at a time.

This event will take place on Thursday, July 17 from 5-7 p.m. Each meditation lasts 7 minutes, with a short transition between participants. Afterwards, visitors are invited to reflect on their experience with a journal prompt.

This program is offered in conjunction with the 2025 Baker Artist Awards exhibition.

Accessibility notes: The dome has a narrow entrance and low lighting. Visitors will need to be able to sit or kneel on the floor for the duration of the 7-minute session. While awaiting entry to the dome standing may be required. Gallery stools will be provided.
