Visual Description

“All Things Bright and Beautiful” is a vertical oil painting on canvas, measuring 54 inches by 43 inches, of a child standing in the center of the composition. The figure’s skin tone is rendered in grayscale, and the painting crops the figure’s legs below the knees. The background is a warm yellow color with faint speckles of a slightly darker yellow hue. The figure holds their left hand up to their forehead, shielding their eyes from a light that casts a long shadow over their face, as they gaze out from the canvas. The figures right cheek, lightly glossed lips, and tip of their nose all catch the light. Their right hand holds a portion of their box braids at shoulder level. They appear contemplative, with their head slightly cocked to their left. They wear a knee-length, sleeveless purple sundress with thin shoulder straps and a vibrant pattern of geometric flowers and small hearts in pastel shades of pink, green, blue, and red. The dress has a subtle ruffle along the top of the bodice and skirt hem
