A Baltimore Homecoming: Amy Sherald & Asma Naeem in Conversation

Acclaimed artist Amy Sherald returns to Baltimore for the opening of American Sublime and a special conversation in the Joseph and Rebecca Meyerhoff Auditorium with BMA Director Asma Naeem.

Together, they will reflect on the power of art to shift our perspective, shape our understanding, and ignite our imagination. Don’t miss this chance to hear from two visionary voices—in the city that shaped them.

This event will include ASL interpretation and live captioning by Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) services. The auditorium is wheelchair accessible and assistive listening devices are available. Please see Accessibility at BMA for additional resources to support your visit.

11 a.m.–2 p.m. – Free art-making, live music, and pop-up performances during Amy Sherald: American Sublime Community Day. Timed-entry passes to the exhibition are required.

2 p.m. – Doors open

2:30 p.m. – Talk begins

3:45 p.m. – Program ends
