
Council Talk and Reception: Infrastructure – Building a City of Artists
BMA Council Members are invited to an unforgettable evening of thought-provoking conversation and a celebration of City of Artists, BMoreArt’s landmark book featuring the vibrant voices and visionary work of Baltimore’s creative community.
A panel discussion moderated by Dr. Lowery Stokes Sims and featuring Derrick Adams, Cara Ober, Jackie Milad, and Devin Allen will highlight how Baltimore artists have both advanced their own creative practices and committed significant efforts to fostering collective infrastructures within their communities.
Topics will range from alternative institution building to publishing and criticism to educating future generations of artists and collectors. Experience a powerful program including readings, tributes, and a live musical performance as we reflect on the stories and spirit that make Baltimore a true city of artists.
Program Highlights
6–7:15 pm
The evening begins in the Joseph and Rebecca Meyerhoff Auditorium with a compelling panel discussion featuring Derrick Adams, Cara Ober, Jackie Milad, and Devin Allen. The panel will be moderated by the esteemed Dr. Lowery Stokes Sims.
7:15–8:30 pm
In Fox Court, enjoy music, light bites, and an open bar as we continue the celebration.
